In 2004, Anthony Carone returned to his roots in Brooklyn, New York, and formed Carone & Associates, PLLC, a boutique law firm dedicated to serving the legal needs of our community. Professional Beginnings

Carone began his legal career at the Park Avenue law firm, Otterbourg PC, where he represented financial institutions, corporations, and other business enterprises. At Otterbourg, Carone’s practice included the following services:

 

Drafting Complex Loan Documents & Credit Agreements

Litigation to Protect Rights of Financial Institutions in Various Federal & State Courts

Assisting the General Counsel of the Commercial Finance Association   

 

Early Education

Carone attended Brooklyn Law School and graduated cum laude in 2000. He was a member of the moot court team and received the Best Brief award in the 1999 Domenick Gabrielli National Moot Court Competition. To add to this impressive list of early achievements, he was also selected for the judicial clerkship clinic for US District Court Judge Denny Chin in the Southern District of New York.

 

Making a Stride

After graduating college, Carone began his professional career as an officer of the United States Probation and Parole Department for New York’s Eastern District.

 

Relied upon by the federal courts, US attorneys, and defense attorneys in resolving issues related to interpreting and applying the United States Sentencing Guidelines, Carone eventually gained a deserved promotion to Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist. Responsibilities for this included supervising offenders with substance abuse problems, as well as monitoring and auditing government contracts with substance abuse treatment providers.

 

Through his incredible efforts, the second Circuit of the United States Courts recognized Carone for his achievements and contributions within his profession.

 

Undergraduate Education

Carone graduated from St. John’s University summa cum laude. It’s there where he also received the Professors Award for attaining the highest cumulative GPA of all criminal justice majors in his graduating class. In addition, he attained a 4.0 GPA in his particular major. 

 

Extracurricular Activities

Carone was also the captain of St. John’s mock trial team that placed in the top-10 in national intercollegiate mock trial tournament. He was also selected for prestigious honors internship with the US Secret Service and served as in intern in the Internal Affairs Division of the US Customs Service.  

 

Away from the Courtroom

As a volunteer arbitrator for Kings County Civil Court, Anthony J. Carone acts as an arbitrator of civil disputes. When Anthony is not providing legal solutions and representing clients to the fullest, he enjoys spending time with his loving wife, Toniann, and his beautiful daughter, Sophia.
